Life Coaching Course
This course which is designed to train candidates to the highest standards. This enables candidates to insure themselves to work in the personal development industry. All course materials will be emailed for you to personalise for your own use. You will also receive a professional training manual to help guide you through the course you have learned to give you the complete confidence needed to provide these treatments within the industry.
The objective of the course is to provide the participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of Life
Coaching. It is comprehensive content at this level, building the skills, knowledge and abilities of a participant that is required to be an effective Life Coach. The course is a starting point for anyone wishing to begin coaching on a one-to-one basis or a small group coaching sessions.
On completion of the Introduction to Life Coaching learners will equip themselves and/or their employer with a
member of staff who is able to Coach individuals or groups from all areas of life. The course will help you to develop both personally & professionally & enable you to qualify as a professional coach equipped with the tools to make a massive difference to others & build a successful coaching business.
Day 1 - What is Coaching? The GROW Model & Wheel of life.
Day 2 - Communication, effective questioning & listening skills in relation to coaching. Values & beliefs.
Day 3 - Goals & motivation. Building a successful coaching business.
Practical assessment, completed course work.
Day 1 - What is Coaching? The GROW model and the wheel of life.
Aims - Understand how to qualify & assessment criteria. Practise practical 1 to 1 & group coaching sessions.
What is coaching? And what it is not. Use the wheel of life to identify key areas of your life. This helps prioritise and focus on where you are already satisfied in some aspects of your life and identify the most important areas needing attention, This is a great tool to use as a starting point for helping clients prioritise goals and take actions.
Learn how to use The GROW model
To coach clients and self-coach. During a coaching session you will work through each of these stages;
Goals - Define the desired outcome or result.
Reality - What are the obstacles in the current situation? What is stopping you getting there today?
Options - How can we reach the desired outcomes focusing on concrete behaviour?
What are your options and
what needs to change in your behaviour?
Will or way forward - What are the solutions?
During a coaching session you will work through each of these stages using open ended questions, you will identify your goal, recognise the reality of the situation, explore your options and finally commit to a series of actions to achieve your goal. You will practise The GROW model throughout the course on self, peers and clients.
DAY 2 - Communication, effective questioning & listening skills in relation to coaching.
Values & beliefs.
Aims - What is positive communication in relation to coaching?
Examine our own skills in all areas.
Practise identified skills using open,
effective questioning and levels of listening skills.
Learn the importance of values and belief, what are they and where do they come from?
Learn to identify, challenge and re-frame.
Practise using skills learnt in coaching to help clients identify barriers move forward and achieve goals.
DAY 3 - Goals & motivation. Building a successful coaching business.
Practical assessment, completed course work.
Aims - Learn how to set SMART goals, motivate self and others. Understand the practicalities of getting started.
Explore ideas for building a successful coaching business.
How to set goals and motivate. Identify own goals and motivators.
Effective coach qualities & practise.
Establish ground rules/Session timings etc.
Client & coach session plan & preparation. Intake session/Client history. Consider niche.
Complete all course work. Evidence of 6 practise coach sessions. Learner checklist completed.
All module/exercises completed & HW exercises Practical 1 to 1 coaching assessment.
Progression opportunities - Trainer and facilitator qualification to teach learning of Coaching and/or Personal
Development or any other subject you are qualified in.
