Trainer and Facilitator Skills Course 

 

This course which is designed to train candidates to the highest standards. This enables candidates to insure themselves to work in the personal development industry. All course materials will be emailed for you to personalise for your own use. You will also receive a professional training manual to help guide you through the course you have learned to give you the complete confidence needed to provide training in the field in which you are qualified within  the industry.

 

The objective of the course is to provide the participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training and facilitation. It is comprehensive in content at this level, building the skills, knowledge and abilities of a participant that is required to be an effective trainer and/or facilitator. The course is a starting point for anyone wishing to begin teaching their own courses combining training, teaching and facilitation skills.

 

On completion of the Introduction to Trainer Skills, learners will equip themselves and/or their employer with a member of staff who is able to plan, deliver and evaluate effective training no matter what the

content of the subject they are delivering.

 

Day 1 - Qualities, techniques of trainer, facilitator & teachers. Resources, handouts.

Day 2 - Communication, Listening, questioning, teaching & learning styles.

Day 3 - Explore and practice delivery methods and course building ideas for progression opportunities

Day 4 - Session planning & delivery. Aim, scheme of work. Practical session, assessment course work.

            

Day 1 - Qualities, techniques of trainer, facilitator & teachers. resources, handouts.

Aims - Training, teaching & facilitating, what are the key qualities & difference?

Identify and Learn to use tools and resources.

Explore techniques & ideas for delivering great sessions and courses.

Introduction to lesson planning, schemes of work, putting together a Course description.

Example of plan and delivery of a session using Maslow hierarchy of needs, adapted to use to teach

personal development.

 

Day 2 - Communication, Listening, questioning, teaching & learning styles.

Tuckman’s group development model.

Aims -  Explore & identify elements of effective communication and presentation. Body language

Learning & teaching styles. Probing & Socratic questioning. Tuckman model. Forming.

Storming & Norming.  Re-visit & reflect on key learning, explore ways to adapt learning, resources & techniques to fit with own subject/ideas.

Start to develop plan resources & delivery for assessment & future courses. 

 

Day 3 - Explore and practice delivery methods and course building ideas for progression opportunities

Re-visit & reflect on key learning, explore ways to adapt learning, resources & techniques to fit with own subject/ideas. Explore Blooms taxonomy, discuss and explore learning and assessment methods.

Example Training pack to use as a template and step by step guide to putting together future sessions.

This is an excellent FREE add on. The assertive training pack gives you all the information you need to deliver this course or adapt it to fit your own.  Explore ways to adapt learning, resources and techniques to fit with own subject/ideas. Start to develop plan resources & delivery for assessment and future courses.                                                             

Day 4 -  Session planning & delivery. Aim, scheme of work.

Practical session & assessment, completed course work.

Present/deliver micro-teach practical assessment. Learner checklist

Q &A.  1 to 1 session with tutor. Complete and/or improve all course work. Practise micro-teach. Complete planning for micro-teach & prepare for practical assessment
